A message from SK. Robert Matyskiel, Grand Knight of St Luke Council 16018.

Over the years I have heard many people talk about raising money to provide scholarships to get students into Catholic Colleges and Universities. However, these educational institutions are typically well funded with plenty of money set aside for student scholarships. The problem is getting students into Catholic High Schools. Families have made the commitment to send their children to Catholic Parochial Schools, but many don’t go due to the cost of tuition. That is why we have started the Knights of Columbus St Luke Council 16018 Cardinal Newman High School Scholarship Fund.

This new scholarship will be awarded to students of St Luke Catholic School and Sacred Heart and unlike other Scholarships the recipient will receive the scholarship for 4 years as long as they stay enrolled and maintain their grades.

As a graduate of Cardinal Newman High School Class of 1980, I learned first-hand the importance of a Catholic High School education. As a member of Cardinal Newman’s finance committee, I have seen the fluctuation in enrollment and the need to provide financial resources to help families who wish to continue their Children’s Catholic Education. It’s time we provide a solution to this problem!

Mark your Calendars! On APRIL 20, 2024 Knights of Columbus St Luke Council 16018 we will be hosting our 2nd Annual Sporting Clays Tournament at the OK Corral Gun Club in Okeechobee, FL. All proceeds will benefit the ST LUKE COUNCIL 16018 Cardinal Newman Scholarship Fund!
